Fantastic Family Christmas

Hello my Dears.

We did it! We were good enough this year that Santa considered us all on his Nice List and we each got a present from him.

Hannah's letter to Santa said that she wanted a rat (and please, I have no idea where that came from). She even knows I am afraid of mice, but she told me I would be "brave of them" if she got a rat. The only family rule in our requests to Santa was that there is no asking for any living things, hallelujah, so happily, Hannah found in her stocking a little furry friend that is a pretend Hamster thing and it runs in a little running wheel. I think it is loads better than the real thing.

Kaitlyn asked for a "dollie that I can squeeze and swing around and with hair" she was quite specific but she actually got a doll that is kind of a Barbie-ish type thing for younger girls with a horse for her to ride one. Kaitles was happy to receive it although I was a little unsure she would be able to say goodbye to the squishy doll idea. She also asked for "undershirts and a stapler" wow. What kids ask for that kind of stuff? I laughed so hard and was excited and humbled all at the same time.

I made them 2 pairs of jammie pants each and they look a little like MC Hammer as of now but I think they are still quite cute. Click on the picture to see some of them better in the picture of Daddy's big hug.

Mike asked for an Ipod which he didn't get and some other stuff, but he sure did get some beautiful art books from artists he admires like Norman Rockwell, Tissot (gallery at BYU right now of Christ's life), and some others . He also got a really cool pocket watch he has been wanting. Kaitlyn thought it very cool and looked like a pirate's.

I have been scared all my life of doing art...but recently decided to be unscared...and I tried out some watercolors with Kaitlyn's Crayola pack. Well well well, but what do you know. MIke got me some professional grade paints and brushes and paper and also a book to learn. It was very great and I felt really special to have such nice things. I am excited to do some paintings. I don't even know stick drawings as of now and I am sure Kaitlyn has better art although she is 6 only, but watch out..because here I come. I am excited.

I love these last few days because my work slows down a bit and I sit and play with the kids a bit more. The girls got a lot of really fun books from G&G Wilde that we are excited to read together.

We had a really wonderful time at our family Christmas party last week with everyone. The kids love playing with cousins so much. We had a awesome white elephant gift party with a penguin pooper, Aflac quacking duck, and Ketchup chips. There were also mystery gift cards and pickup sticks! I think our Christmas Bingo was also very fun...and I would say funner than expected. Brigham almost made blackout..but Marsh and Di got it first~! I love spending time with my family ..the little one and the big one.

P.S. We had to wake up the kids on our own at 7:00....What happened to the 5:00 am days of Wilde childhood?

Nativity with the Becks

Grace is sporting the fanciest wise man outfit ever to hit Bethlehem...for sure. Thanks to the Becks for hosting a great Christmas Eve. Thanks to Bill and Susan and Whitney and the Robisons for adding to the fun. Merry Christmas! We missed you.

Christmas Eve

We let the kids open a Christmas book present on Christmas Eve. They clearly supported that decision.

2010 Highlights - Merry Christmas

It has been a great year! I had many great and wonderful experiences from Staying with Bill and Susan and Kristy and Steve to visiting in Alaska.

Best of all... Finding my Partner in Crime! Aly has given me a run for my money all year long!

This is the most resent picture at the lights at Temple Square.

Since Aly is such a Martha Stewart, She made me these homemade socks that are supposed to be the cure for my Plantar Faciaitis Problem (The highlight of my year!) Now I know how hard it was for Forest Gump to sleep at night with his Leg Braces.

I sure missed everyone at Thanksgiving this year! The next best place was Mcdonalds. We each made Mcflurry shakes for dessert!

Heading up to on of the most memorable trips of all year for both me and the Becks, we stopped in at the Garden of Eden. The only way I could really get into the spirit was to put on my fig leafs. I'm not sure the people at the gas station thought it was quite as funny as we did!

Here it is! The moment that helped me to appreciate the life of a handicapped! If only Steve was there to properly measure this one! It was a good 15-20 ft cliff in the Narrows at Zions canyon that has hobbled me for the rest of the year. How come I was the only one out of 30 people or so that hit a rock 2 ft under? I'll never know!
It was a wonderful experience hiking back out of the canyon through the river. The guy on the back of the bus got ticked off cause I had my feet elevated trying to reduce the swelling. I'm such a Jerk!

Jazz game with Aly. Not quite sure if she was excited, cheering or what??

It took my Redneck Buddy Jethro (Greg Phillips) to renew faith that pheasant hunting in Utah can actually be good. We saw over 40 or so Birds and harvested about 15 Roosters. Just like the good -ol-days down by where the Payson hospital is now after a morning working at the bakery.

This is sadly Aly's first fish of her life. I'm happy I could help facilitate this experience for her. We couldn't even throw the horse meat back cause it was too small to recover from the hook. It was so fun to go back up to Payson lakes where we all spent so many wonderful weekends the Grandma and Grandpa Wilde. It sure looks different now but there is still some fish. Tiny ones:)

The Caribbean Utah - Bear Lake. My first time up there. We pulled the boat up there and stayed in Jon and Katy Hudson's family cabin. Jon graced us with his singing skills but forgot his cutoff shorts with the pockets hanging out the bottoms wearing cowboy boots. Maybe we'll get to enjoy the sight again this year at Fishlake.

Aly refused to dress up like the rest of the crowd at the Ephraim Utah. I was just trying to fit in and she thought I was going to get my trash kicked. A least Camp followed suit. I'm not sure the locals even noticed. Should've seen em!!

Az. Great part of this year. This is a little place out near Carefree. One of our favorite spots.

Experiencing Bill's lifestyle. I'm now more convinced he works a lot less than plays:) This was pretty much a typical day at the office. Not bad for January!
Mckelle rode back to Az with Aly and I. We stopped and hiked Angel's landing at Zions Canyon. It sure was fun to have Mckelle there to give us so much relationship advice. She ought to be a pro by the time she gets around to dating.

Trip of a lifetime to Alaska! Didn't hurt that it was free. We saw all sorts of cool things from this Humpback Whale to the Mendenhall glacier. I got a shot on film as one of the biggest chunks in 3 years that broke off and fell into the ocean. Maybe I'll post it next time.

This is the float plane that flew us all over the amazing views over Ketchucan. We landed on this small natural lake on the peaks of one of the huge granite mountains. This lake was begging for a slalom ski to put at least one ripple in it. The photos were like a perfect mirrored reflection!

Here is a great example of the way I learned to get around on crutches. We hiked all over the place at the San Juan Islands until my arm pits were bleeding. Hiking with crutches is de beeest!

Alaska was more beautiful that I remembered it! We should all move there when Mom and Dad get back.

Snowmobile rentals is so expensive in Wyoming that we just decided to share. Next time we should get the 800 to get us through the 3 feet of fresh powder. Good thing we all get along:)

Whitney and I went to do baptisms with Mckelle for her first time. It sure was fun to spend so much time out there with that part of our awesome family!

Merry Christmas to everyone!! I anticipate 2011 to be just as exciting! This time not as a handicapped:)
