These are original stones from the Jesuit Guarani Indian Mision. The misions began in early 1600's and were established in parts of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay.
It is amazing to see how early civilizations were very advanced in some of their cultural activities. It was great to learn about these people. Their story is portrayed in the 1986 movie, The Mission, starring Robert DiNiro. Check it out at the Library!
